Book for Boudoir #2

Oh, loveliness! I am so happy when our clients choose an album to show off their photographs!

This was my very first boudoir book — a 7×7 Coffee Table Book with a sleek black case. Not TOO much to see here, for privacy’s sake, but I did want to share a few photos of the book before it was whisked away to its new home.

Kerry’s Parent Book

We just shipped out a beautiful 7×7 Coffee Table Parent Book for Megan’s mom, Kerry, and we thought we’d share! The book was printed and bound by AsukaBook and designed by Yours Truly (*cough*cough* that’s us).

Enjoy…

Signature Album: Jessica + Brett

We just got Jessica and Brett’s Signature Album back from the publisher, and it looks SO gorgeous!

We had a die created from their logo design, and used that to stamp the chocolate brown leather cover.

Their “album” is actually “albumS” — they’re receiving a two-volume set with a total of 100 pages of photographs from their wedding day and aftershoot.

The books have now been shipped off to their new home with Jessica and Brett in Virginia, but here are some photos…

Jessi + Brad's Coffee Table Book

When I made Jessi and Brad’s engagement photos a year ago, Jessi told us, “I really like trees.” Seriously. Those were her words. Which is awesome because *I* really like trees! And not in a silly, tree-hugging way. I just think trees are beautiful.

So anyway.

When Dan started creating a cover for Jessi and Brad’s book, he remembered what Jessi had said, and he went with a warm fall color and (what I think is) an awesome tree form. I think this flows so well with the overall fall-ish-ness of their wedding celebration in October, and with their personalities.

And how fitting that I photographed Jessi’s ring on this picture of a tree!

Here are a few more spreads from Jessi and Brad’s 80-page book… Enjoy!

Their decor was AWESOME! This page is almost like a little Inspiration Board — great ideas for anyone planning a fall wedding.

And you might remember the first dance shot below… it was a winner in the latest WPJA contest!

The Ezekiel Family's Coffee Table Book

We’ve been honored to photograph the Ezekiel family three times over the past year-and-a-half — from Chonte’s pregnancy, to the newborn little Sade’, to their first family photographs!

It’s great to wrap everything up with a photo book for their family! We hope this sits on their coffee table for years and years, reminding them of their love for one another — and how totally beautiful they all are!

This family loves bold color, as evidenced by the clothes they wear and the the totally awesome bright walls and furniture in their home. Dan decided to create an elegant yet strong cover with some cool texture and warm color:

These are from our first shoot with the happy couple in October of ’06. They are SO FREAKIN’ PHOTOGENIC, it’s insane! (See their cool bedroom colors and that awesome green wall in their living room?)

And here’s little Sade’ at only 4 weeks old in December of ’06! Eeek, she’s so CUTE! She wasn’t very cooperative in the waking-up department, but with that sweet face it didn’t really matter — even when she got a little fussy she was precious!

And here’s the whole fam in July of ’07! I couldn’t believe it when Sade’ toddled in! Kids grow amazingly fast… (and then they want to touch your camera)… haha.

Not only is Chonte’ a hot new mom, she’s also a fabulous businesswoman with a growing event planning company! Her website is still under construction, but you can see some of her great work from two weddings we shot with them :

**Cicely and Ben in April of ’06 (wow, it’s weird to look back on old images!),

and

**Rashida and Robert in July of ’07!

Coffee Table Book! Whitney + Kevin

I’m going to share more than the usual number of spreads from Whitney and Kevin’s book because a bunch of people have been asking to see MORE! So here is the “more” you’ve requested. Clean and simple as always!

I really liked this “do-it-yourself-macro”* shot of their rings for the cover…

*Not sure what “diy-macro” is? Take your lens off your camera; flip it around backwards and fit it against the lens mount. Now move in CLOSE close close and VERY carefully find your focus. You are in effect shooting at f/1.0, so your depth of field will be super shallow, but it can be really cool once you get the hang of it! All you need is a steady hand — and a faster shutter speed can help a lot, too! This isn’t a substitution for a real macro lens, but it’s a great alternative if you’re on a budget, if your husband is using your macro lens, if your dog ATE your macro lens, or if you just want to try something different. (grin)
